Little Grass

Mom's Words

Lyric and Music by 陶大伟

Translation:

When I was little,
Mon often told me,
One day you’ll become a grown-up, my child,
But don’t you forget this.

She said,
Don't envy those who are rich,
For  you must have heard their worries brought about by the money.
Don’t  you aspire to fame and vanity, too.
The higher you climb, the worse the fall will be.

Now that we have all grown up,
I’m always hearing these words from mom.
Even though I’m traveling far away from her,
Mom’s words won’t change.

**She said, (repeat)**

Translation:
1.      An man was drunk, and fell down carelessly from the balcony of the third floor. As a result, many passers-by ran over to check him out, and found to their surprise that the man was not dead.  At the time, a cop came, and asked the drunkard what had happened?  The man said to the cop, “I don’t comprehend it fully, because I’ve also just arrived  here.”

2.      The first grade teacher Chen asked his student: “Mingming, if you have one dollar in your pocket now, then you asked your father for another dollar. How much money will you have altogether?” Mingming said, “I’ve still got only one dollar.” Teacher Chen said, “you don’t understand at all how to add.” Mingming said: “Teacher, you don’ t understand  my father at all.”
