The Sun rises on the Prairie

This is another folk song from the Mongolian Prairies. Composed in Mao's time, it unavoidably bears the brand of the time. However, it is still a very beautiful touching song, especially when sung by a foreign friend who loves Chinese culture.

Translation:

In the blue sky float the white clouds,
Under which the horses gallop.
(I) crack my whip, sending the sound to everywhere,
And  flocks of birds begin to fly up.
If somebody comes to ask me,
What place is this?
I'll tell him with pride
This is my homeland.

The people here love the peace,
And love their homeland.
We sing about our new life,
And an ode to the Communist Party.
Oh, Chairman Mao and the Party,
You have nurtured our growth.

The everlasting sun is rising in the Prairie.
The everlasting sun is rising in the Prairie.
